Lava stone and lava substrate from Türkiye
Red, porous volcanic rock for surfaces, drainage and planting media – crushed and screened in Osmaniye.
Lava stone is solidified, gas-rich lava: hard, porous and chemically neutral. Unlike pumice it is heavier, which makes it the better choice where a surface must take foot traffic and drain at the same time – paths, dry-stone walls and drainage beds.
IBMINERAL extracts the red lava stone in its own pit near Osmaniye and supplies it in defined gradings. Blended as lava substrate it improves root aeration and holds moisture without waterlogging.

Why is the lava stone red?
Iron oxides colour the rock red-brown; the colour is natural and not coated.
Is lava heavier than pumice?
Yes, considerably. For green roofs and lightweight concrete, pumice is usually the better choice.
